Hi-Lo

Confession: I hate taking outfit pictures in public. The hubs and I decided to take some pictures in North Hills after dinner (if you live in Raleigh you know it's a popular area). While taking these pictures I felt incredibly awkward, and then a lady thought we were tourists and offered to take our picture together. She was offended when we said no, haha! I guess it's just something I'll be more comfortable with over time.

Shirt: Banana Republic (similar)
Skirt: Lauren Conrad for Kohl's (similar)
Shoes: Zara
Bag: Kate Spade (similar)
Belt: Francesca's (similar)
Bracelets: Spike the Punch

What do you think of the hi-lo/mullet skirt trend?

  1. Well even if it felt awkward- you look GORGEOUS. I really love everything about this look. My fiance has been taking my pictures just around our neighborhood and I still feel like all my neighbors are suddenly staring out their windows. Oh, the woes of being a blogger.

  2. That high-low skirt is just GORGEOUS with those Zara heels!

Haha, that's funny that the woman thought you were tourists. I'm so excited for my vacation because it means I can take ALL the outfit photos I want and no one will blink an eye :)

  3. Love the bob, love the skirt, LOVE those Zara shoes (that everyone has but me, it seems)!! Great outfit :) I totally feel the hate for taking photos in public - I can't even bring myself to take pictures in my backyard if my neighbours are out. Really need to get over myself.

  7. These pictures are beautiful, even if you did feel awkward. I am the same way about taking pictures in public, so most of mine are taken inside my apartment. Also my guy doesn't really like taking them and won't do more than one or two.

    PS: cute shoes!

  8. I'm horrible about taking pictures in public too! I don't' know why people get so interested when taking pictures out in public it like moths to a flame and I always feel like they are staring lol I love that skirt esp because its Lauren Conrad for Kohl's! Such a pretty color.

  9. You are a brave, brave woman! I have only taken my outfit pics in public once, and that was in a mostly abandonned parking lot. I need to get out of my comfort zone with that because I think my wood pile back drop is getting old fast!

  14. it does feel a little awkward and I have been trying not to be so weird - acting weird makes it even MORE awky :). Well, at least you look SO adorable, so you really have nothing to feel uncomfortable about :)

  17. You sound just like me with the public shots. I am still not comfortable doing them. My smile is all weird and my eyes look like a deer in headlights when I take pics in public. But, you my dear look fab!! Love that last shot. You need to pin that on Pinterest! Great outfit...so girly and fun!

  29. You know, at first I really didn't like the hi/lo trend. But you lovely ladies out there are starting to convince me otherwise! Love the picture of you walking, it shows off the movement of the skirt. I completely hear you, I feel like such a major dork taking pictures in public (ok, I also sometime feel like a major dork taking them in my backyard too! Ha!). Have a great weekend! :) Amanda
