I’ve talked about my fitness journey before here and here. On Sunday, I completed the 60 day Hammer & Chisel program. I’m officially down 36 pounds since January which is a little mind blowing! Hammer & Chisel is a really intense program with a lot of weight lifting, and I actually have a weight lifting bench in my living room. It has 12 different workouts that are about 40 minutes each, and you get 1 rest day per week. There’s a specific workout calendar to follow when doing the program, along with a meal plan depending on your weight and goal (lean out vs. build muscle). Now that I’ve finished Hammer & Chisel I’ve decided to do a hybrid
workout of 21 day fix and the Chisel workouts for the summer. The
combination of cardio and weight lifting should help me reach my goal
weight by the end of the summer.
With the weight lifting and intense workouts, protein powder plays a really big factor in my routine. 30 minutes after my workout I have a protein shake with unsweetened vanilla almond milk daily. If I don’t have this shake, I feel really off for the rest of the day. Protein powder is crucial for me when it comes to building muscle, and recovering after a workout. Here’s what you need:
1 cup of natural creamy peanut butter
3/4 cup of uncooked old fashioned oats
2 tsp of agave (or you can use a mashed banana)
1 scoop of chocolate EAS® 100% Whey Protein Powder
Here are the steps:
1. Measure out the ingredients, and add them into a medium size bowl
2. Mix all of the ingredients well
3. Measure out tablespoon size portions
4. Roll them using your hands into balls
5. Refrigerate them for 1 hour
