This time of year I have a lot of close friends and family members who are celebrating their birthdays! When it comes to giving a gift, I put a lot of thought and time into it to come up with the perfect one. I just love seeing the look on my friend or family member's face when they open the gift and love it! There's nothing better than that. Here are the steps that I take for the perfect birthday gift:
1. The gift itself: Picking out a birthday present can be a little challenging. When it's around the time of my friend's birthdays, I make sure that I listen very carefully to conversations. Does your friend have a trip coming up? A travel journal is the perfect idea. Is your friend moving to a new house? A piece of home decor, or a Homegoods gift card are both great options. If all else fails, you can never go wrong with jewelry or a blanket scarf!
2. The card: I could look at birthday cards for hours! They are so fun to shop for and I really love the line of Papyrus cards inspired by Taylor Swift and her aesthetic! The line includes 44 cards which means that there is one for most occasions (Birthday, Thank You, Friendship, etc.), and I'm in love with the two cards pictured here. The blue card is perfect for a friend's birthday, and the pink card is blank inside so that you can write your own message. These cards are handcrafted with fun finishes and embellishments like the gems shown here. You can find these cards exclusively at Target.
3. The presentation: When it comes to wrapping the gift, I'm loving the idea of using a gift box like this one pictured below. It's the perfect size, and the polka dots on the sides are so fun! If you don't want to use a box like this, you can always wrap the present too (I love using kraft paper). You then just tie the box with some fun ribbon into a bow like I did here. I really like this hot pink color, but patterned ribbon would also work really well. The last step is to add a special touch to the present once the ribbon is tied. For this present, I found these wooden and metallic gift tags which I think works really well. I also bought them in a large pack, so I'll have enough for many more birthdays!
