5 Post Workout Essentials-Head to Toe Chic-@headtotoechic

Today I’m excited to share with you my 5 post workout essentials! Whether I’m working out in a fitness class or doing one of my exercise routines in the comfort of my own home, here are the 5 steps that I like to take after every workout in order to feel my best:

  1. Hydrate

Ever since I began my weight loss journey last year, I’ve been drinking a lot of water throughout the day. Staying hydrated is extremely important during and after a hard workout, so that I’m both feeling my best and can also perform my best during my workout! Lately I’ve been reaching for the Nestlé® Pure Life® bottles that I pick up in a 35 pack at Walmart. It’s a great value because you get 3 more bottles for the same price as the old 32 pack. You can find Nestlé products on Walmart’s website, but you can find the 35 pack exclusively in stores. If the 35 pack of Nestlé® Pure Life® is not available in your local Walmart, please ask a store manager about getting the product in your store. Pure Life is also going to be re-launching in May, so be on the look out for the new packaging! I like to keep these bottles in the refrigerator or garage at home, and I just grab a bottle before heading to a workout class after work. It’s easy and convenient which I love!

  2. Refuel

Making sure I’m eating enough throughout the day is really important. I try my best to follow a nutrition plan, and snacks are always needed after a tough workout. I like to drink a protein shake, or eat a banana in order to refuel. If I don’t do this, I often find that I start feeling lightheaded which is something I always like to avoid.

  3. Stretch

Stretching is key. There’s nothing worse than feeling really sore the next day, especially if it can be prevented. They don’t always stretch enough at the end of one of the exercise routines that I follow at home, or after a spin class so I like to stretch a little extra on my own. It definitely helps so that I’m loosened up, and so that I’m not as sore in the morning.

  4. Freshen Up

After working out, I always like to freshen up. That can either mean taking a shower after workout if I have time, or at least changing my clothes if I’m in a huge hurry. I hate staying in my workout clothes all day, so freshening up is important to me!

  5. Track My Progress

Did I do better than the previous day? There’s only one way to find out. Whether that means I’m tracking the number of reps that I completed doing one of the exercises at home, or tracking my score on the app after spin class. I love making sure that I’m getting better each day and giving it my all!

I just have to say that you have the best workout clothes! I think that I would workout more if I had these. 🙂 #client

LOTS of water and stretching are both essential for me. Otherwise I am SO sore (or even more sore).

I need to better about drinking water. I do good for a few days and then I slack off. I need to be consistent!
