Now that we have shared our big news, I wanted to share the things that helped me survive the first trimester! My doctor said it best that during the first trimester you do whatever you need to in order to survive because it can be rough for some people. I was fortunate enough not to have morning sickness, but I’ve experienced a lot of constant fatigue and I’ve had nausea if I don’t eat every 2 hours. Here are the things that helped me during my first trimester:

  1. Pregnancy Pillow:

    Every night I’m in bed by 9:00 pm which is very different than my usual bed time. Even though I’m so exhausted I’ve had a lot of restless nights and trouble sleeping, so I bought a pregnancy body pillow pretty early on. I’ve never slept with a body pillow before, but I’m hooked! I’m still not sleeping super well, but this has definitely helped a lot and I feel a lot more comfortable. I know that it’s going to be even more helpful as my belly grows.

  2. Ovia App:

    I can’t recommend this app enough. I love seeing what changes are going on with the baby each week, and also what I should expect my body to be going through as well. It gives you a fruit or vegetable that the baby is the size of each week, and also shows how big their hands and feet are at that time. Another thing I love about this app is the food safety look-up and medication safety look-up to make sure that what I’m putting into my body is safe for our baby. I love checking this app each day!

  3. Maternity Leggings:

    I purchased my first pair of maternity leggings at Target and they are seriously amazing! Every woman should own pair even if you aren’t pregnant, they are just that comfortable! My pants started getting tight at the end of the day at around week 9 or 10 so it was so nice to change into these leggings when I got home from work.

  4. Rainbow Light Prenatal Vitamins:

    I’m a vegetarian, so finding prenatal vitamins without gelatin was really challenging. When searching on Amazon, I found that the prenatal vitamins from Rainbow Light don’t have any gelatin which is perfect. I definitely recommend these!

  5.  Snacks:

    I bring snacks with me everywhere that I go now in my bag. If I don’t eat every 2 hours I get extremely nauseous so I definitely try to avoid that if possible. I picked up snack size packs of nuts and just always have a few bags with me!

    I really want one of those pregnancy pillows, but I think it would raise a few eye brows haha they look so comfy!
