I have been doing some major nesting over the past few weeks to prepare for Baby W’s arrival in December. One of the rooms that we recently cleaned out was the guest room. Once the baby is here, we’re going to be having a lot of company so we wanted to make sure that this room is ready for our visitors! Today I wanted to share the guest room essentials to have on hand so that your guests feel welcome and comfortable:

1. Candles:

I’ve recently been purchasing the Atmosphere Collection™ Fine Home Fragrance by Glade® candles. I pick up these candles at Kroger and they are layered with ingredients by world-renown fragrance designer Ann Gottlieb, and they smell so good. My favorite go-to scent is the N°1 Enraptured™ – Jasmine and Cedarwood and that’s the one that I always make sure to have on hand. Recently I’ve also purchased N°2 Bright™ – Sweet Pea and Pear. When I’m away from home, my favorite part about getting away is the amazing scents that hotels and spas have. I want our home to feel the same way to our guests, and I want to make sure that we are providing a relaxing environment for them (even though I’m sure we’ll have a crying baby on our hands soon). To provide this relaxing environment you don’t have to spend a lot, so I just make sure to have the N°1 Enraptured™ – Jasmine and Cedarwood candle in the room for our company. Right now you can save $1.00 when you buy any ONE (1) Glade® Atmosphere Collection™ Product. Valid 8/13 – 8/26.

I always make sure to lay an extra blanket at the end of the bed, and I also have some others in the room in case it’s chilly at night. There is nothing worse than being too cold, so we want to make sure blankets are easily accessible for our guests.

3. Towels

I like to lay a couple of towels at the end of the bed so that they can be found easily, and our guests don’t have to search for them. I love having colorful towels instead of basic white ones to brighten up the room and the bathroom, and the mustard color of these towels is so fun. It always provides a cozy environment in the room.

4. Books

I’ve been keeping some books in the guest room just in case our company would like some reading material at night. We have a variety of different books including a lot of travel books from our recent trips, and some novels that will hopefully appeal to a variety of tastes.
