It feels like this pregnancy has been flying by and also going so slowly at the same time. We can’t wait to meet our baby girl, but then I also keep thinking about all of the things that still need to get done. We still have plenty of time though. Now that my second trimester is over, I thought I would share what my necessities have been (you can see my first trimester necessities here)!
1. Full panel maternity pants:
Side panel maternity pants are perfect for the first trimester when your pants are a little too tight, but your belly isn’t big enough to hold up the full panel. As my second trimester continued, the side panel pants weren’t cutting it for me anymore and they would roll down which isn’t ideal. Now I’ve been only wearing full panel maternity pants and they are so much more comfortable! My favorite pair for work is this pair and my favorite pair of jeans is this pair (and they are both on sale!).
2. Belly butter:
Each morning and night I’ve been applying Burt’s Bees Belly Better to help prevent stretch marks and to keep my skin hydrated. I’ve heard that stretch marks are genetic (and luckily my Mom doesn’t have any), but I’m doing everything I can to avoid them!
I’ve never loved pedicures more than I do right now! My feet are constantly aching and swollen, so monthly pedicures are so relaxing and essential. I have a membership at Paintbase, and it was definitely one of the best decisions that I’ve made.
4. Maternity dresses:
Recently, I’ve been adding stretchy cotton dresses to my maternity wardrobe (like this one). I love how these dresses show off my bump, and they will be able to fit me as my belly keeps growing which is a must.
5. Prenatal massages:
I’ve been having sciatic nerve pain in my back which hasn’t been a lot of fun, but I know it will be worth it in the end. I’ve been trying out different things to try to help the pain, and recently I had my first prenatal massage which was amazing. It was relaxing, and helped my back for a little while. I’m still searching for something that will help for a little longer, so let me know if you have any tips!
