Must Have Maternity Clothes

Maternity clothes can be really tricky and also come with a hefty price tag. As soon as I found out I was pregnant I couldn’t wait to start dressing my bump and come up with what my pregnancy style would be (on a budget of course)! Instead of wearing oversized clothes to try to hide my bump, I decided to wear fitted clothes to embrace my pregnant body because it’s something to be proud of. Here are my must have pieces that carried me through all 3 trimesters, and they are also some items I’m currently wearing postpartum too so you’ll get the most bang for your buck:

1. Maternity Leggings

I purchased my first pair of maternity leggings during the first trimester which was key for me. During the first trimester you become so bloated that you really need to have clothes that are comfortable and not restricting. I really love the pair that I’m wearing here from Blanqi which are definitely worth the splurge!

2. Fitted Tank Top and T-shirts

I loved wearing fitted tank tops and t-shirts underneath jackets, sweaters, and kimonos. They are the perfect way to show off your belly!

3. Button Down Shirt

I decided to purchase this button down shirt from Target and I’m glad I did! I love that the tie accentuated my bump while pregnant, and now it’s also a great shirt to wear while nursing. I now just tie the bow around my back instead of around my waist.

4. Maternity Jeans

Maternity jeans were another item that I started wearing during my first trimester. My regular jeans became a little too tight and uncomfortable, so I opted for the side panel maternity jeans at first and then started wearing the full panel maternity jeans in my second and third trimesters.

5. Little Black Dress

This dress is hands down my most worn piece of maternity clothing. I’ve worn this dress so many different ways on the blog, and it was perfect for the office and also for the weekend. I can’t suggest getting a dress like this enough!

I added quite a few fitted dresses to my wardrobe during my pregnancy. I loved the ones from PinkBlush with their gorgeous prints and their affordable price tags!
