Shopping for Menswear

I talk a lot about women’s fashion on the blog, but today I wanted to turn the tables and talk about shopping for menswear! I love looking and feeling my best, and I want to make sure that my husband feels the same way too. I recently stopped into Alton Lane in Cameron Village to do some shopping for my husband, and I was so impressed with this store! I love that they make custom suits and shirts for a really great price. Here are some guidelines that I go by when shopping for menswear:

1.Fit is key:

When it comes to looking and feeling your best, it’s important that your clothing fits you well!  Your clothes will look more flattering if the fit is right, and that’s where Alton Lane comes into play. Alton Lane offers custom suits at a price that’s comparable to department store prices. Custom-made suits start at $595, blazers at $475, trousers at $150 and dress shirts at $99. How amazing is that?! Shopping at Alton Lane is by appointment only, and clothing usually arrives within weeks.

2. Mix patterns

Don’t be afraid to wear a patterned shirt and tie together! For example, if you wear a plaid shirt, it doesn’t mean that your tie and pocket square need to be solid. Instead, mix different prints together to give your look a little more interest like in this outfit below.

3. Don’t be afraid of color

Alton Lane has a wide variety of shirts in different colors and prints to give your outfit a little more personality. I really love that they have many options that aren’t just neutral colors when it comes to dress shirts!

While doing some shopping in Cameron Village for my husband, I test drove the 2018 Range Rover Sport from Jaguar Land Rover in Cary! Having an SUV is always key whenever you know you have a weekend of shopping ahead of you. The 2018 model has some fun new features like the double touch screen on the interior which I was a big fan of. You can also wave your hand over the sensor to open the sunroof blind, which I used quite a few times now that Spring weather has arrived. The 2018 Range Rover Sport also has some of the same features that I loved in the 2017 model like the power lift gate and back-up camera. It’s a really fun car to drive with great pick-up, and I love how spacious it is!
