As a new Mom, one of the things that I’ve been struggling with is making sure that I’m taking time for myself each day. It can be really hard to do, but it’s something that’s important for both myself, my sanity, and for Charlotte. During the newborn stage this can definitely feel like an impossible task, but sometimes this can just mean making sure that you take a shower and drink a hot cup of coffee. As time goes on life with a baby gets easier, and so does making time for yourself. Here are 6 ways that you can make time for yourself as a new Mom:
1. Take a yoga class
It feels so good to get up, get moving, and sweat a little. Exercise is a great way to take time for yourself each day, and it’s even better if you can get out of the house and attend a workout class. 2. Go on a road trip
Leaving your baby overnight can seem daunting, overwhelming, and a little scary. I’m going away for the weekend for my sister’s bachelorette party next month, and I’m definitely a little nervous about leaving Charlotte. I’m so excited to spend some much needed girl time though, and celebrate the bride-to-be!
When it comes to a road trip, you definitely need to make sure that you have the right car! I recently test drove the 2018 Range Rover Velar. This SUV was by far my favorite Range Rover that I’ve had the opportunity to drive from Land Rover Cary. It had a lot of great features, but my favorite is that it has massaging seats. How amazing is that?! It was so relaxing driving this car around for the weekend and getting a massage at the same time. Some other fun features are that it has a touch screen on the dash and on the steering wheel, and a coat rack on the back of the passenger seat. They definitely thought of everything with this car, and I did not want to give it back at the end of the weekend!
3. Dress up and go on a date night
Robert and I recently went on our first date night since having Charlotte, and this is something that we need to do way more often than every 6 months! It feels really good to get dressed up every now and then, and this is the dress that I wore to go out to dinner. 4. Go shopping
There’s nothing better than a little retail therapy! I love shopping for myself, and also finding new pieces for my husband too. 5. Grab a cup of coffee
Get out of the house and grab a cup of coffee and either meetup with a friend, or spend some time alone doing some people watching. Either way is a great option to take some time out for yourself, and wake-up with some caffeine.
6. Get a manicure and pedicure
This is one of my favorite ways to spend some time for myself! It’s the perfect way to relax, get pampered, and feel refreshed.
