With the North Carolina heat and humidity, I’m all about braiding my hair in the summer! Also being a Mom to an 8 month old I don’t have a lot of time to do my hair in the morning, so having a quick hair style is a must for me right now. Today I wanted to share how you can do this rope braid on your hair with a step by step tutorial, and I’ve also posted a video on my Instagram Stories if you want to see it that way here (I’ll make sure to save it to my highlights as well)! It’s such an easy braid to do, and it’s essentially just french braiding with two pieces of hair instead of three. You can wear it with your hair down like I did in these photos or in a pony tail like I did here.
Step one: Grab two pieces of hair. Cross the piece closest to your face over the top
Step two: With the piece of hair closes to your face grab a little more hair, and then cross it over the top
Step three: Repeat step 2 until you’re right above your ear
Step four: Now instead of grabbing more hair like you’ve done in the previous steps, you’re just going to twist the two pieces of hair until you reach the end
Step five: Secure with two crossed bobby pins in the back. You can leave your hair down like I did here, or put it in a pony tail.
