And just like that, our little girl is one! This time one year ago I went in for pre-op testing for my scheduled c-section on December 14 (Charlotte was breech), and found out that I would be having her on December 13 instead. I remember feeling absolutely terrified, but I was so excited to meet our daughter and to become a Mama. After waiting around for countless hours, they wheeled me back into the delivery room and I immediately burst into tears. There were so many people in that delivery room and I was absolutely terrified to have surgery for the first time in my life. Not to mention, my husband wasn’t allowed in there at first. Once he came into the room though I immediately felt a sense of calm over me and felt so much better having him by my side. Just a short while after that we heard this loud cry, looked at each other, and knew that our lives had forever changed.
This past year has been full of sleepless nights, lots of tears, and also a lot of love and laughter. Now we are parents to a one year old! I’m thankful that these days we are getting a lot more sleep and life with her has become a little easier (for now I’m sure). Charlotte is crawling all over the place and has also taken a few steps which is exciting. She also has quite the sassy personality and loves to talk up a storm all day long. I can’t wait to see what the next year brings. Happy Birthday 1st Birthday, Charlotte!
