I became a Mom in December 2017, and 2018 was honestly all about survival. I’ve put my whole self in being the best Mom and Wife that I can and since then, I feel like I’ve lost myself. With a new year, it’s the perfect time to set some new goals that will help me feel like myself again! Here’s what I want to accomplish in 2019:
1. Eat better:
A couple of years ago I started 21 Day Fix (you can read my post all about it here) and I absolutely loved it. I’ve decided to begin this program again since it worked so well last time! For me, it’s a really easy way to make sure that I’m eating better, but it’s also not too restricting. I’m going to complete several rounds so that I can start feeling like my best self.
Before having Charlotte, I was the most in-shape that I had ever been. I was working out every single day whether it was going to FlyWheel classes after work, or doing one of the 21 Day Fix workouts in the morning. After having Charlotte, it was so difficult to find the time and I wasn’t getting enough sleep where I had enough energy. Now that she is finally sleeping it’s time to start working out! I’ve signed up for Beachbody on Demand so my plan is to wake-up before Charlotte does each day, and do one of the 21 Day Fix workouts at home. Hopefully it’s something that is easy to make time for!
I’ve been getting my nails done sometimes during my lunch break, but it isn’t super relaxing to be honest. I’m hoping to start going on the weekends instead so that it’s a little more enjoyable, and I also want to start doing a weekly face mask.
One thing that I really want to do is to spend more time away from my phone. I’m pretty good about putting my phone away when I’m with Charlotte, but after work I spend too much time scrolling through Instagram. There are so many other things that would be more enjoyable and more productive, so I definitely want to unplug more this year!
I think it’s important to prioritize what is really important, and that it’s also ok to say no. That’s something that I struggle with, but I need to spend my time doing things that are most important to me.
