Today I wanted to share another update about what I’ve been reading lately! I mentioned before, but I’ve been trying to make more of an effort to read more and watch less TV (you can see past books that I’ve read here and here). Reading is such a great way to relax at the end of the day, and I’ve been really enjoying everything I’ve read lately:
Kya lives in a coastal town of North Carolina where everyone calls her the ‘Marsh Girl.’ She has survived and lived alone since she was very young, and her friends and family are the creatures of the marsh. When a boy in town named Chase Andrews is found dead, everyone automatically suspects Kya and an investigation begins. This book was truly amazing, and I was in tears and shocked at the ending. It’s a book that I couldn’t put down!

This book is all about female friendship and it follows the stories of Geraldine, Sunny, and Rachel. It shows how friendships change throughout time, which I think is very relevant in your 30’s and beyond. This book honestly didn’t have much of a plot, which is why I only gave it 3 stars.

What if George Washington was the first King instead of the first President? This one is all about the American royal family, and Prince Beatrice is about to ascend the thrown as the first Queen. This book is the first in the trilogy and it’s amazing, however it definitely leaves off on a cliff hanger!

4. That’s What Frenemies Are For
Julia lives on the Upper East Side with her husband and two children and seems to have it all, and she loves the influence that she has over her friends. Then her house is flooded in the Hamptons and she’s stuck in NYC for the summer. She thinks all is ruined, but finds a new boutique gym in her neighborhood where she is transformed over the summer. She also takes one of the instructors, Tatum, under her wing and plans to make a comeback at the end of the summer that puts her back on top. However, her life goes out of control when her husband is arrested and everyone turns their backs on her. This book was ok overall, but I have a hard time loving a book where I dislike the main character. It’s a fun book though, and it’s a quick and easy read!
