Red Sweater Vest

Here’s an idea of what to wear on Christmas! I wore this outfit for our Christmas card photos this year, and also to my office holiday party. I really love how festive this outfit is with the sparkles and red sweater vest (I also have this vest in black and brown which you can see here and here), yet how comfortable it is at the same time. I’ll definitely be wearing this a few more times before the holiday season is over. What will you wear on Christmas?

Holiday Gift Ideas For Everyone on Your List

It’s hard to believe that Christmas will be here next week, and I’m almost done with my Christmas shopping thankfully! If you aren’t done shopping either, here are some last minute gift ideas for everyone on your list:

For Toddlers:

1.Build-A-Bear: We’ve taken Charlotte to Build-A-Bear once before and she was in heaven! She had so much fun picking out her stuffed animal and then going through the whole process until we were able to take it home. She also recently received Olaf from Build-A-Bear and she absolutely loves him, talks about how funny Olaf is, and he was even a part of our Christmas photos this year. It would be such a great gift to take any kid on your list to Build-A-Bear and have a fun afternoon together.

2. Board books: Charlotte absolutely loves books, and I’ve shared some of our favorites here or here that would make good options for presents this year.

3. Educational toy: I try to not buy electronic toys for Charlotte, and instead I really love all the toys by Melissa and Doug as options for her. This wooden alphabet toy is a favorite of ours, and Charlotte loves telling us all the different letters. (You can also see this post on some ideas for activities to do with your toddler).

For Her:

1. Jewelry: Jewelry is always a gift that I love to receive, and I currently have my eye on this pair of earrings from BaubleBar.

2. Hair accessories: I’m all about headbands right now, especially ones with different embellishments like this one for the holiday season.

3. Books or a Kindle: I’ve started making reading more of a priority this year, and I am absolutely loving it! You can see what I’ve read here, here, here, and here which would also make great gifts. I also purchased a Kindle this year (this is the one that I have) which is what I use to do most of my reading, and that would make an amazing gift too.

For Him:

1. Yeti mug: Guys can be so hard to buy for, but this Yeti mug is definitely a great option especially for someone that commutes or works in an office.

2. Button-down shirt: I always default to clothes when I’m not sure what to buy for my husband, Dad, or Father-In-Law. My husband loves these button-down shirts by Columbia, and the quality and price point is great.

3. A night out: Getting a babysitter and having a night out on the town is a great option too! Make a reservation at his favorite restaurant or at a new restaurant in town, and enjoy a quiet dinner together.

Weekend Outfit Idea

Here’s a casual weekend outfit idea! I’m all about wearing something comfortable on the weekends while I’m running around town finishing up Christmas shopping, and also running after Charlotte. I’ve been wearing this top from Old Navy a lot lately, and I really love the fun print and how cozy it is. It pairs perfectly with these Steve Madden sneakers that are under $100, which are the perfect dupe for Golden Goose sneakers that run around $400.What’s your favorite outfit to wear during the weekend?

What I’ve Been Reading: December

Here’s what I’ve been reading lately! I’ve loved everything that I’ve read recently, and you can check out my other blog posts about what I’ve been reading here, here, and here.

1. Tell Me Lies

Lucy is from New York, but decides to go to college in California to get away from her mother whom she has never forgiven for betraying her when she was a teenager. Once she starts college she meets Stephen who quickly seduces her. However, Stephen is trying to hide something dark from his past that would ruin him. He can’t be trusted, but Lucy can’t bear to be separated from him. This book follows their relationship and their lives while in college and after, and it’s such a good story.

Rating: 4/5 stars

2. The Wedding Date

Alexa agrees to go to a wedding with a guy that she was stuck in the elevator with as his fake girlfriend. They have fun together, but Drew flies back to Los Angeles and Alexa goes back to Berkeley. They thought that wedding was it for their relationship, but then they start a long distance relationship which presents its many challenges.

Rating: 4/5 stars

3. The Proposal

Nik is proposed to at a Dodgers game after only dating her actor boyfriend for 5 months, and she says no. At the game, Carlos and his sister come to Nik’s rescue and rush her out of the stadium to get away from the disappointed fans and the camera crew. Nik and Carlos start dating and it begins as a rebound, but it has a few bumps along the way.

Rating: 4/5 stars

4. We Came Here to Forget

Katie is an Olympic skier, but in the middle of her career the truth comes out about her sister. This ruins her career, her family, and her relationship with her boyfriend and best friend. She escapes to Buenos Aires where she reinvents herself, and takes up tango dancing along the way. This story is one that kept me guessing, and it is seriously such a good book.
