24 Hours in North Hills

I recently had a staycation in North Hills with Meghan, Courtney, and Glory! It is honestly my favorite area in Raleigh, and it is constantly growing and evolving which means there is so much to explore and so much to do. Here’s the ultimate guide for how to spend 24 hours in North Hills with your girlfriends:

Where to Stay:

We started off our staycation by checking into the AC Hotel. I last stayed at the AC Hotel when Robert and I had a mini babymoon before Charlotte was born. It’s such a gorgeous hotel with a very modern feel which I really love! It was honestly so nice to get a good night sleep in a comfortable bed, and their rain shower is the perfect way to relax too. We hung out in our room for a little bit and got ready before heading up to Level7 for happy hour! The best part of this hotel though is the central location and the fact that we were able to walk everywhere.

Where to Go for Happy Hour:

You last saw Level7 here for our Galentine’s Day Party, and I was definitely excited to go back for a drink and appetizers before dinner! I ordered a glass of rosé, and we shared their cheese ravioli, cheese plate, and the Margherita flatbread. Level7 also has a rooftop which definitely makes it the ideal spot to go for happy hour! Side note: we also loved this spot so much that we actually went back after dinner too.

Where to Have Dinner:

After Level7 we went across the street to The Capital Grille. This was my first time at The Capital Grille and I was honestly blown away! We started out by looking at the wine list on a tablet that had full descriptions which was so helpful, and the service there was outstanding. I’m a pescatarian and Courtney is a vegetarian, and they had really great selections for us which was definitely appreciated! I had the scallops for dinner and they did not disappoint, and their burrata and tomato salad was amazing too. My favorite part of our meal though was definitely the dessert! We ordered one of almost everything, and the cheesecake was out of this world.

Where to Go for Breakfast:

The next morning, we stopped by Happy + Hale for breakfast before doing some shopping. Meghan and I last went to Happy + Hale over the summer (you can see it here), and I was excited to go back and try it out again! Meghan and Courtney had the avocado toast, Glory had the poke bowl, and I had the breakfast wrap. It was definitely the fuel that we needed for an afternoon of shopping.

Where to Shop:

North Hills has quite the variety of shops and we were so excited to check out some favorites, and also some new shops as well. Our first stop was Copper Penny and I loved absolutely everything! It’s such a gorgeous store at a really great price point, and they also carry a lot of my favorite brands which was really perfect too. I was definitely drawn to their selection of vests when we stopped in that afternoon, and I love these two different ones that I tried on here.

After Copper Penny we stopped by Kendra Scott. Kendra Scott is hands down my favorite place to shop for jewelry right now. I wore a pair of earrings by Kendra Scott the night before (I’ll be sharing more details on my outfit soon), and I was excited to check out the rest of their winter collection in person.

After Kendra Scott our last stop was South Moon Under. This was my first time visiting South Moon Under and I loved their selection of trendy pieces! They also carry Free People and Z Supply which are two of my favorite brands right now. I was really drawn to their cozy pieces and these two tops are definitely on my wish list.

Tuesday’s Cravings: Comfort

Here are the items that I’m currently craving this week featuring all items that have to do with comfort! Comfort is key for me these days, and I honestly can’t remember the last time that I wore a pair of heels which I kind of love. Instead of heels, I’ve been all about leopard flats lately and I really love this pair from Target. They would look so great with this turtleneck sweater from H&M and this denim jacket that is also from H&M. Which is your favorite, and what are you currently craving?

Friday Five

Friday Five-@headtotoechic-Head to Toe Chic

Happy Friday, friends! I was off from work this week since we didn’t have anyone to watch Charlotte. I decided to sleep train her during this time and I was a little worried about it, but she actually did really great! I’m hopeful that it stays this way and she becomes a better sleeper. I really enjoyed spending one on one time with her, especially since she is just growing up way too fast (I can’t believe she’s going to be 1 so soon!). Here are some fun things I wanted to share from this week:

One of the things that we did this week is we went to Pullen Park. If you’re in the Raleigh area and have little ones it is the perfect place to spend the afternoon. I actually used to go to Pullen Park as a child, so it was a lot of fun to relive those days and ride the carousel and the train with Charlotte! They also transform the train into The Polar Express around Christmas, but tickets sell out so fast. I’m hoping that we’ll be able to snag a ticket when Charlotte is a little older.

We also did a little bit of shopping this week and we stopped by The Cotton Company in downtown Wake Forest. It’s such a cute spot, and they have a lot of great gifts for the holidays right now.

If you follow me on Instagram (@akeeleywhite), you saw that I stopped by Pandora at Crabtree yesterday for a fun event. My MIL, my Mom, and I all have Pandora bracelets and they really are the perfect gift for the holidays. It was fun to check out their new products and charms!

I’ve recently started shopping at Trader Joe’s again to help continue with my 10 minute dinners that I’ve been doing. It’s so hard to come home and cook something that takes a while when Charlotte can only sit still for so long. I’m going to share some of my dinner ideas soon, but I absolutely love all their cauliflower gnocchi, cauliflower pizza crust, and their chicken-less orange chicken at Trader Joe’s.

Smoothie Recipe for Nursing Mamas

Smoothie Recipe for Nursing Mamas-@headtotoechic-Head to Toe Chic

I’ve done a lot of research on ways to increase milk supply throughout my almost 11 months of nursing Charlotte. Other than drinking a lot of water, I also drink this smoothie each morning which does seem to help! I just measure everything out, slice up the banana, and put it all in my ninja blender (I have this one and it’s perfect for smoothies). It’s what I have for breakfast each morning and it’s quick, easy, and fills me up which is definitely what I need. It also tastes like a milkshake which doesn’t hurt either!

Here’s the ingredients:

1 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk

1/2 cup old fashioned oats

1 banana

1 scoop of chocolate protein powder

2 teaspoons of peanut butter

1 teaspoon of ground flaxseed

1 teaspoon of brewer’s yeast

Ice

If you’re a nursing Mama, do you have any tips on increasing your supply?
